Une soirée de plaisir

Wine, food and film made for an enjoyable evening at the Appleton Reading Room.

The Room, decorated with french flags, was filled with people in striped shirts and beret's for a viewing of the hilarious French film Welcome to the Sticks.

The film broke box office records when it opened in France and judging by the laughter, translated well to North Yorkshire.

Before the film, villagers of all ages and their friends enjoyed a buffet of french bread, brie, paté and garlic sausage.

Thanks to Maggie, Janet, Nicola and Anne for helping. And thanks to everyone for the generous donations with total of £60 being raised towards roof and general repairs.

We'll keep you posted on dates for the Italian and Indian nights.
